Phil Doherty is the CEO of Acuitis Process Analytical Technologies, based in Cork, Ireland, and a leading figure in the global process analytical technology (PAT) community with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in developing and implementing advanced sampling systems and PAT solutions for the pharmaceutical and food industries. Before founding Acuitis, Phil held several senior roles including Managing Director and Chief Scientific Officer at Expo Process Analytics and a leadership position in Pfizer’s global PAT group in Ireland.
He is highly regarded for his expertise in technology strategy, model predictive control, multivariate data analysis, and continuous processing. Phil’s work has directly contributed to the interface of PAT instruments with manufacturing processes, resulting in improved quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple regulated industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry and Physiology from the University of Sunderland and a postgraduate diploma in Business Leadership from University College Cork.
