Dr. Blerina Shkodra is Head of Particle Science & Formulation Services at leon-nanodrugs GmbH in Munich, Germany. She is an expert in drug delivery and nanomedicine, specializing in the design,development, and characterization of nanoparticle-based pharmaceutical products. Dr. Shkodra manages R&D projects focused on RNA-enabled therapies, advanced drug delivery platforms, and innovative formulation approaches for pharmaceutical actives.
Her background includes leading roles in nanoparticle and lipid-based drug formulation, with previous research in polymeric nanoparticles for anti-inflammatory drug delivery at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and process development at CureVac. Dr. Shkodra is skilled in various analytical techniques (DLS, NTA, HPLC, spectroscopy) and brings GMP quality assurance experience from her time at Gentipharm Pharmaceuticals. She holds a PhD from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, and additional degrees in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy from the University of Greenwich and Charles University in Prague.
